About

Get to know the farm and owners

Brightwood Dressage is set on twelve beautiful acres in the heart of Monkton, Maryland. We purchased the farm in December of 2019, after our careers brought us from Ocala, Florida to Maryland. Michael is a digital marketing professional, and Jenna works in the wealth management industry, in addition to operating Brightwood Dressage.

After searching far and wide, we finally found “the” farm where we could turn our dream into reality. It was a beautiful farm, but in need of some maintenance and repairs. However, we (mostly Michael) are pretty handy, so that was not a deterrent! We quickly got to work after moving in, making improvements and designing future projects as our ideas steadily began to take shape.

Having worked out of other farms, it has always been a dream to have our own. It’s a lifestyle that we absolutely love and enjoy. We bring extensive knowledge of managing the care and training of performance horses, having worked in several top dressage and sport horse barns in Florida.

Our hope is that we  can use our expertise and passion for horses to build a truly special place for both rider and horse. We strive to offer a peaceful, welcoming environment in addition to providing top-notch care and quality training. We are still getting started in Maryland, but are excited to see what the future brings!
